Although, I think I might be alright for a while.

I would switch to paying directly principal if you can, normally the pre-payment thing to get ahead just allows you to pay for the interest you would pay during on-time payments. I think half a year ahead is good enough?

I’ve been overpaying since day 1, I plan on trying to get rid of this loan as soon as I can, but since the principle is only ~7k, it’s not much interest.

Just try not to skip your housing lease payments again.

I don’t think I can pull that again. I did just renew my lease, so we’ll see.

I mean, sure, it’s your money, your call. I just don’t see a lot of merit in spending more interest vs less when you’re already months out.

My checking account took a pretty big hit recently, and I’m be low the psychological limit I like to keep in there. I’ve been making $500 payments every month since I’ve had it. Thinking I’m going to make a payment after the 15th, not sure how large it’s going to be. It’s less than a $1 a day in interest and I can eat that for a month to feel a little better. It’s not logical, but it’s hard to always be logical.

I mean, I’m not judging you at all, no skin in this game . Seems reasonable if you’ve overpaid for this long to skip a month or so and then repoint to principal then. That works too.
